This shoot took a long time to happen. Maybe when you’re out shooting for a living, sometimes taking the camera out for your own kids can be put on the long finger. Lucy my second has been completely neglected, due to a house move and other things like life that got in the way.We have only one picture of her on our walls, while Ryan who was papped every week since birth is everywhere around the house.

So I eventually got the backdrop up for them and did a shoot at our house. We’re lucky to have plenty of natural light at the back of the house, but no direct sun at certain times of the day, so just one soft box and a few reflectors did the job. I then set up a black backdrop in another room with one soft box and again a reflector for a completely different look.

My favorite is the one with Lucy’s feet and Ryan in the foreground, she wouldn’t step off the backdrop once she realised what was going on! A little Diva in the making :-) )

Had one of those jobs yesterday where you didn’t mind getting up to go to work, a trip to the sunny south east in the blazing sunshine. In between the sun breaks and lunch in the Crazy Crab, Kilmore Quay I was photographing fish producers, processors and the Eurotoques Young Chef of the Year finalists as they took part in the Failte  Ireland Food Tourism road trip sponsored by Failte Ireland and BIM, Bord Iascaigh Mhara.

This shoot was for the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) Postgraduate and Undergraduate Prospectus 2011-2012. Two and a half days of shooting and design work by Dara Creative resulted in the following.

The Wicklow 200 Cycle Challenge

June 13th, 2011

0569 0122This had to be the worst day weather wise for anyone taking part in the Wicklow 200 Cycle Challenge in Greystones yesterday 12th June. And if the wind and rain weren’t enough to contend with cyclists had lots and lots of hills to contend with. So hats off to the 33 members of UCD Volunteers Overseas, supported by KPMG, who took-off in the Wicklow 200 two thousand metre cycle challenge from Greystones yesterday. The UCDVO participants will work on charity summer projects this year in Haiti, India, Nicaragua, Tanzania and South Africa. You can check out more about what they do at www.ucdvo.org
